Day #8, Casper Wy

Saturday Oct 17, 2009 - We toured around Casper today.
We first went to the The National Historic Trails Interpretive Center. We rode a wagon acrossed a river, pulled a handcart, rode in a stage coach, petted a buffalo

Then we went to Fort Caspar. The fort was named after Lt Caspar after he lost control of his horse and it headed into the attacking Indians (go figure). The town of Casper was also named after him but someone misspelled his name and the town became "Casper" not "Caspar".

Next we went to a county park "Ayres Natural Bridge Park". It was an impressive rock formation at a small stream had cut from what appears to be solid rock.

Around here Jackalopes are a big deal. Today we were lucky enough to see the animals that get together to create that very special animal.

I love you buffalo shots. Buffalo is the country animal of Belarus. Haven't seen any though--just a big huge fake one alone the road.
