Briana Photo Shoot

Talk about your cute grandkid. When the Rumseys were here visiting us Nina & Briana did a photo shoot with hats. Briana just seems to be a natural photo model. Nina enjoys working with any one that will change outfits and pose for pictures. The resulting photos that Nina get are amazing to see. Remember to feed the fish.

Raccoon Family #2

We had a new raccoon family vist yesterday. We know its a new family because there are 3 babies.
The mother just wanted some rest.

But the little ones would not let her rest very long.

If the babies get scared up a tree they go.

Raccoon Family

We have been feeding this mother raccoon all summer hoping she would bring her babies so we could see them. Well she brought them today. All three seemed very comfortable so I think we will see more of them. You can see how little it take to get us excited here in Washington.

I realize that not everyone enjoys raccoons like we do. But the little ones are so cute.

Day 10, Brookings, Or. to Home

Today we traveled 521 miles. That's a big day for us.
We had to go south back in to California from Brookings then back into Oregon.
Things we saw along our way.

Barns, Barns and more Barns.

This photo is for Darla.

We got home safe and sound about 10pm Saturday night.

One lighthouse above and 2 below. The lower right does not count, its in a someones yard.

The ocean that rocked us to sleep.

Day 8 , Fort Bragg to Eureka

Today we traveled from Fort Bragg to Eureka. That's 135 miles in one day. At this rate we will be home by Christmas.
On the way we went to a lighthouse at Shelter Cove (1 hr 30 min to go 24 miles, one way).

Then we went though the "Avenue of the Giants". These are huge Redwood Trees.

In Eugene we found, after much stumbling around, the Table Bluff Lighthouse. They like large things in Eureka. Large boots, Large Sailors.

I saw this snail on the path and just thought of Deanna. We have snails here too.

This picture if for Brandon. To show him how the ocean look every day for our trip. Looked like there would be a bunch of abalone for the taking.

Day 7, Bodega Bay to Fort Bragg

Today we found 2 lighthouses and a lot of California coast line. Highway 1 has a lot of curves and it takes a lot of time to travel a small distance. The ocean was beautiful but foggy.
First to Fort Ross and then on to Salt Point State Park.

Then the Lighthouse at Point Arena

Then the lighthouse at Point Carbillo

Then for Fort Bragg for the night.

Day 6, Fairfield to Bodega Bay

Today we traveled from Fairfield to Bodega Bay via Point Reyes National Seashore. We went to Point Reyes to see the Point Reyes Lighthouse. You cannot get to close but Nina took the photo below. There was a sign about "watch for elk crossing" and there were actually elk next to the road. The sign got it right.

We stayed at a hotel in Bodega Bay with a view of the bay. They have a sail boat there that was beached 2 years ago and is still there.

Day 5, the Ricks Family

Today was spent with the Ricks family.

At the Steinhart Aquarium.

Then at the hotel pool.

Today we were just hanging with the Ricks family.

Day 3, Jordan's Baptism

Saturday was Jordan's baptism. After the baptism Brandon had a big celebration party at his home for a group of friends. The photo in the upper left is a rainbow that showed after a very small shower at the party.

Brandon and Jordan did good.

Lots of barns and trucks and a long, long freeway.

Traveling to California

We are now on our way to California to attend Jordan's baptism on Saturday. We got off a little late and only got to Eugene, Oregon. The pictures below show about all we saw between Silverdale and Eugene.

Beach combing, airplanes and going home.

Today was when the Rumsey family left for home. A sad day because their tripe was over. But also a happy day because our trip to California begins.

Yesterday was a day for swinging and flying airplanes.

And beach combing.

Kayaking on the Hood Canal

Today we went Kayaking on the Hood Canal. Everyone had a good paddle, even Briana. A new rental place opened up about 3 mile from our house on the Hood Canal.

Fun, fun and more fun.

4th of fJuly

We had a hotdog roast in the backyard. Does anyone recognize the hotdog roasting sticks? They are getting old.

There was some swinging on the rope swing. I have got to remember to not turn the camera when taking videos.

And there was fireworks in the backyard.

And then there are the Rumsey kids.

Backyard Critters, Humming Birds

Check out our Hummers. We have 9 feeder around the house . I need to fill 3 or 4 of them every day. Those little birds can suck up a lot of sugar water.
