Jan 3, 2010 Sunday. We made it home about 1:30 in the afternoon. The house was cold but still hear and in good shape. We had good weather all the way home, very little rain. Now to rest up from the vacation. It was a fun Christmas and very good to see all the kids (except Tonya, we will see her later).
I hope the new year is good for everyone.
Why the following picture? I do not know. I just liked it and thought the blog need a picture.

Day 14, On the way home, still.
Jan 2, 2010 Saturday. We are still on the way home. We have now turned a 1 day trip into a 3 day trip.
We ran into some bad fog with some black ice (we almost stopped right there). It lasted for about 50 miles then cleared up.
There were horses and barns in the fields.
And there were horses on the overpasses.
Large wind farms. Not much wind for power generation today.
They must like their coffee in Oregon because they carry it in very big containers.
We did make it to Troutdale, Oregon (that's about 10 miles east of Portland). We are hoping to make it home tomorrow. The weather looks good, so maybe.

Day 13, On the way home for Christmas in Idaho 2009
Jan 1, 2010 Friday (New Years Day). We started on our way home.
This is what the snow looks like in St. Anthony, Idaho. Big piles in the middle of the road.
This is what the roads looked like when we took off for home this morning. It was a bit scary.
This is what the fields looked like as we went through Idaho Falls.
This is the exit where we picked up Brandon and his family after their accident. It seemed a lot farther that night than it did today.
The roads where a lot better around Pocatello and we ended up in Boise. Now we will be rested and ready to go in the morning.
